The Allergy Fair

The first Irish Allergy Fair took place in the RDS Main Hall last weekend. I went along to check out the wheat-free offerings. The fair dealt with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of allergies and food intolerances including asthma, eczema, anaphylaxis and gluten intolerance. There were free seminars from dieticians, nutritionists, allergy specialists and other health professionals dealing with a wide range of topics, which were all very interesting. There were loads of stands offering alternatives for wheat-free living including suppliers from across the country like Foods of Athenry, Cathy’s Spelt for Health, Kelkin and Ecodirect to name a few. There were also suppliers from the UK like Barkat Gluten free foods and Nutrition Point. I bought some goodies from a few stands, so will review these in the next few post.
