A wholesome variety

The Happy Pear in Greystones looks like a delight – delicious wholesome food and lots of it wheat free. I haven’t had a chance to try any food in the cafe yet, but I’ve tried some of their produce at the Rude Health Show in the RDS and I was passing the area one Saturday morning, so ran into the shop and picked up a few things. I got a freshly squeezed juice-absolutely divine! I also got the muesli called The Happy Pear House granola. Ingredients are oats, sunflower oil, barley malt, goji berries, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, currants and cinnamon. It’s a rather interesting combination. Firstly the colour was different to most granolas, it was very dark, which made me think it’s unprocessed and healthy looking! Secondly its texture is quite soft where I was expecting it to be crunchy. The cinnamon added a good punch of flavour, and the goji berries were a welcome change. I love seeds in a granola too, they add a bit of crunchiness and good flavours too. Would I buy this again? Yes. I’m looking forward to visiting the Happy Pear Cafe as Adventures in Veg did a great review with what looked like mouth-watering food!
