Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I’ve also found with following a wheat-free diet, it is the easiest to cater for, especially if you can eat and like oats. There is a great variety of breakfast cereals out there. Saying that though, a lot of them are loaded with sugar and may appear healthy but aren’t when you look at the ingredients. Stable Diet do a fantastic range of 3 cereals – Yola Porridge, Toasted breakfast cereal (a granola) and toasted breakfast cereal with fruit. These cereals are pure luxury, absolutely delicious. From previous posts you’ll know that I’m a big fan of porridge. The Stable Diet Yola Porridge is fantastic. I previously did a post, see here for more details. I love the way all the seeds are included, it’s lovely and creamy and a delicious taste. As for the granola, they live up to their name, Ireland’s finest granola. A blend of toasted oats, nuts and seeds, flaked almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. What gives it its sweet taste is the brown cane sugar, the vanilla extract and the coconut. It’s really tasty and very filling. The texture is very good, and the toasted oats with the nuts and seeds are delicious. Great with milk of your choice, or alternatively as a dessert or snack with natural yoghurt. The other toasted cereal is with fruit. It’s also tasty, though I did prefer the original. It depends on your preference really, this includes papaya, pineapple, banana and coconut, so has a tropical twist to it. If I had to have a negative, I thought the fruit pieces were a little big. However saying that, this granola is completely delicious too. Stable Diet have a great variety of cereals. It’s also nice to know that they are a privately owned Irish company, so supporting the Irish is important too. The company prides itself on a reputation for quality and authenticity, and they lived up to that with their cereals. Available in a range of supermarkets and health stores. See their site for a list of stockists.
