Maria Lucia Bakes

I was lucky enough to get to try some of the Maria Lucia Bakes range. I had 2 little helpers who were very excited when they arrived, especially a 7 year old who loves healthy granola!

These didn’t disappoint. Though we did argue over our favourites!

Cashew, almond and cinnamon granola seemed to be the winner. This granola is a blend of roasted cashew nuts, coconut and sultanas, toasted almond flakes, sunflower and pumpkin seeds delicately sweetened with honey and vanilla with a hint of cinnamon. I really liked this one, the nut mix is great and the cinnamon flavour is quite strong. Nice topped on some natural yogurt or else on some plain porridge oats, gluten free ones if you need them. I take unsweetened almond milk in my cereal.

Cranberry, coconut and chia seed granola. This one was the 3 year old’s favourite one! It has a nice blend of cranberries, toasted coconut, chia seeds, crunchy sunflower and pumpkin seeds, and oats infused with honey and natural vanilla. She had hers with oat milk. There’s also a kick of cinnamon in this granola. Another lovely granola! We all liked this one.

Granola fruit free – no added suga. This cereal is a delicious unsweetened blend of rolled gluten free oats, coconut flakes, nuts and seeds infused with coconut oil, vanilla and cinnamon. I loved this one, one of my favourites. Again a bowl of granola for me is just too much but used as a topper this is great. Good crunch and taste!

Ancient Grains Granola was our last one to try. This is oat free and made with mixed ancient grains including quinoa, millet, buckwheat, chia, seeds, coconut, treacle, honey and cinnamon, baked for crunchiness. I wasn’t a fan of this at all. But the 7 year old granola lover thought it was great!! I am a big oat fan and this has no oats so I think that’s possibly why it wasn’t my favourite! It’s an unusual texture with the puffed rice and quinoa, in my opinion, but you can’t like them all!

As a brand, Maria Lucia has a super range of cereals catering for the free from market. Available in most large supermarkets and online. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter for more updates. Looking forward to trying more from the Maria Lucia Bakes range.
