As part of coeliac awareness week last week, there were some great gluten-free offers in the supermarket. I picked up this Old El Paso Gluten Free Fajita kit in Superval for half price, I was delighted! It includes gluten-free fajita seasoning, salsa and the wraps. Suggestions of what to add were on the box. We added red pepper, onions, sweetcorn to the chicken when cooking with the seasoning. And when cooked added in lettuce, fresh tomatoes and cucumber.
The kit has everything in it which is great. Hats off to Old El Paso and at least you know the seasoning and salsa are safe foods. The wraps are really tiny though!! I give my two daughters the kids wraps and they were a lot bigger than my gluten-free one!! Wraps were nice but honestly I much prefer the BFree wraps for size and taste!
The spices in the seasoning are delicious. Flavour was smoky bbq and it was really tasty. Although it says mild on the box, it didn’t taste too mild. The whole family ate the dinner, which is a win in my house! We have one fussy eater and one who would eat anything but she is dairy-free, so finding something they both eat is super! The salsa is really flavoursome too, tomatoes aren’t too chunky and have a good kick of spice too.
I would buy the kit again as don’t think you can buy the gluten-free seasoning on its own? I may be wrong. My meal planning days will consist of gluten-free chicken fajitas probably once every 10 days now!
You can purchase in most major supermarkets. I bought mine in Supervalu and have seen them in Tesco. The half-price offer was a great incentive to purchase 🙂
